ecasound-el software package provides multitrack-capable audio recorder and effect processor (emacs), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ecasound-el
ecasound-el is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ecasound-el package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ecasound-el *
You will get with ecasound-el package name, version, architecture and description in a table
